Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo escaped a possible plane crash in Lagos on Wednesday.
A passenger aircraft with identification ET-901, departed Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, at 9:10am, Ethiopian time, 7am Nigerian time.
According to NAN, Osibanjo was among the 393 passengers who were on board the aircraft that experienced difficulties landing at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
A NAN correspondent, who was among the passengers said that from the Addis Ababa, Ethiopian capital to Lagos had been smooth until the pilot attempted to land at the Murtala Muhammed International airport in Lagos.
Instead of landing on the first touch line of the runway, the pilot missed it, due to rain and heavy wind then landed on the third touchline.
On realizing this, the pilot quickly maneuvered the plane back to flight, flying out of the Lagos airport. After flying around Lagos and areas in Ogun, which caused panic among passengers which includes Obasanjo, the plane landed in Lagos airport, after 20 minutes of the initial false landing.
