Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley was arrainged in a Federal high court in Lagos after he was remanded in prison.
Mother to the upcoming artist broke down in tears during the sitting at the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi- Lagos.
Presiding judge, Justice Nicholas Owoibo had remanded Marley in custody, following his prosecution at the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
EFCC had arrested the artist on an 11-count charge bordering on alleged credit card fraud, on Monday.
Recall that Naira Marley came up on social media to express his support for online fraud. He said that Nigerians should pray for Yahoo boys, adding that Yahoo boys in Nigeria keep the money circulating.
After which he released a song titled “Am I a Yahoo boy ?”.
He, Naira Marley, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. Justice Owoibo still remanded the artist in prison until May 30 when his bail application would be heard.
On hearing the order by the court, Naira Marley’s mother broke down in tears. Sge continued weeping when she saw men of EFCC hand over Marley to the Nigeria Prison Service operatives for detention till May 30, 2019.
