How do you see your workplace ?
A money making place or a social place to bond with new people.

An office is a place to make money, not friends. Do you agree ?

Reno Omokri gives us a lead.

He wrote,

“An office is a place to make money, not friends. If you are foolish enough to trust colleagues and confide in them, they will betray you if the info can give them favour with the boss. Not because they are bad, but because they are there for money”.

But then, the relationship you have with your work colleagues determines how effective you’re in your workplace in order to bring in more yield.

A colleague who can go behind your back to pull you down is not a good employee and he or she is supposed to be disciplined.

You may see it as a double edge stuff, but no it’s not.

You are meant to strictly have official relationship with everyone in the office. Which includes, respecting them, following the rules, etc. Which does not include, paying them a visit, buying lunch for them.

But it’s not withstanding.

You can go visit at home, a work colleague whom you’ve become close to. You can grab lunch for a colleague you have a close relationship with.

In summary, keep office work official and close relationships close.
