Professor Mahmood Yakubu, INEC chairman has presented the National Register of Voters to Political Parties in Abuja after voters registration exercise.
“for the 2019 General Elections, the official total number of registered voters is: 84,004,084. ( Eighty Four Million, Four Thousand, and Eighty Four)” – Yakubu said.
INEC Chairman also said that 850,000 personnel, including ad hoc staff, would be trained for the 2019 general elections. The training which began its first phase in Calabar today involved State Training Officers and Assistant Training Officers from the 36 states of the country, and they will in turn train others at various levels.
The commission also confirmed the usage of smart card readers during the general election.
