The ongoing violent protest in Zamfara has grown turbulently with the burning of car tyres, blocking of roads and the alleged killing of two protesters by Nigerian Army personnel.
Zamfarans who have fled their home due to insecurity in that part of the country took to the streets to protest against the insensitivity of the government. Word is that on a daily basis some is killed in Zamfara, bandits storm the place demanding ransom a week before they attack.
Online reports says that the protest happening at Tsafe L.G.A is not void of the burning down of the L.G.A’s secretariate building and road blocks. Currently, protesters are marching towards the residence of the Local Government Chairman.
Protesters blame the incumbent president of Nigeria, president Buhari, over his silence over the serial killings in the state.
Recently people in a village in Zamfara state experienced the death of seventeen (17) people who were killed by unknown gunmen. Last week Wednesday, 25 people were reportedly killed in attacks on two different villages by suspected gunmen and cattle rustlers in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara state.
