Sad news by the Nigerian Union South Africa (NUSA) as they announce the death of one their member, Udebuani Chidokweanaukwu, who drowned while swimming in a beach at South Africa. Late Chidokweanaukwu hails from Nando in Anambra State, he is reported to have drowned in a beach at Swellendam near Cape Town, Western Cape in South Africa.

Udebuani died leaving behind his wife and children.

Publicity personnel of the union, Habib Miller, confirming the death incident said, “with sorrow and heavy heart, we have received the news of the death of Udebuani Chidokweanaukwu from Nando, Anambra State. According to the information from an eye-witness, Chidikweanaukwu got drowned on the beach at Swellendam on December 17. He is survived by his wife and children. NUSA sympathises with his family and friends at this difficult time of grief and pray God comfort them,” he said.

Habib further urged members to be cautious as well as obey safety rules when visiting the beach and other hazardous places.

A final Student of Federal university of Owerri (FUTO), Kester Gabriel drowns while swimming in Otammiri river. Kester Gabriel, a 500 level Material and Metallurgical Engineering student returning from Industrial Training went for swimming on Wednesday after he checked back to school on Sunday.

AIT owner, Raymond Dokpesi, arrested at Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport

The owner of African Independent Television (AIT), Raymond Dokpesi has been arrested at Nnamdi Azikiwe airport for reasons unrevealed.

The news is coming from the verified Twitter account of the television network, they wrote.

“Breaking: Chief Raymond Dokpesi has been arrested at Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport on return from medical treatment /operation at the American Hospital Dubai. Reasons have not been given yet for the arrest”.

Following the news, Chief Raymond has been released, according to the update from AIT.

Let’s talk about Raymond Dokpesi.

According to online sources, Dokpesi is Nigerian media businessman born in 1951 in Ibadan, Nigeria. His parents are from Agenebode, Edo state in a family including six sisters siblings. He entered the Nigerian mass media industry with his company DAAR Communications and set-up the Nigerian TV network Africa Independent Television (AIT).

Raymond Dokpesi was the organising committee chairman of the People’s Democratic Party national conference in 2015.
