Nigerians are keen towards the release of Deji Adeyanju describing his arrest as an infringement on democracy and abuse of power.

@AbangMercy wrote on Twitter,

Deji Adeyanju is detained for asking the Nigerian Police to be non- Partisan ahead of the 2019 elections – this isn’t funny, it does not make sense for a society that practices democracy – Deji needs to be free. This is abuse of power

2019 VP debate

Atiku’s running mate under PDP, Peter Obi during the debate pointed out several issues facing Nigeria and how to solve them. But one out of many which got our attention reads.

  I don’t approve of Deji’s politics but setting the Police on him is an overkill - Gimba Kakanda

“The more you invest in education, the better your economy. I have known this even as a governor of a state where I took the state from #28 to #1 in education.”

Education has been a major problem in Nigeria and sadly the present government has done little concerning a remedy. As of 2017, number of children out of school currently counts up to 10.5 million.

In 2018, nigeria ranks highest in the number of out-of-school children, according to sunnews. There is no future for a country whose government keeps less than 20% of her annual budget on education.

Other Peter Obi’s salient points are below, as shared by him on Twitter.

“Our country today has the highest number of out-of-school children in the world today. Our inequality has worsened, our misery index has worsened.”

“What we are subsidizing today is inefficiency. There is no way a country can have N400bn for health which translates to N5 per citizen, yet paying trillions for subsidy”
