The former Governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayodele Fayose made a statement saying that security agencies under the government led by the APC has become a threat to democracy. He made this statement through his official twitter handle @GovAyoFayose.
The former governor made reference to the incident at Akwa-Ibom house of assembly, where thugs barged into the assembly premises chanting “APC”. The security persons on ground were alleged to be protecting the warsaw protesters.
It appears that Security Agencies under the APC govt of
@MBuhari have become the greatest threat to democracy in this country. What is happening in Akwa-Ibom State House of Assembly is another sad reminder of this threat.
The speaker of the house Onoifiok Luke also condemned the security on ground for their lackluster attitude towards the protesters. The protesters stopped the speaker’s vehicle therefore obstructing a house sitting session. Recall that sometime in June, the Nigerian police deployed 5,000 officers ahead of an APC convention.
