The 1960post reported of the statement made by Ganduje while receiving EFCC, ICPC and AFN during an event organized to honor President Buhari’s effort in fighting corruption. Ganduje said openly said he donated N10m to the EFCC for the Anti-corruption Marathon project, which honors Buhari.

EFCC on their official twitter handle made a post debunking the news of the agency collection funds from individuals to carry out the Anti-corruption Marathon project. The Anti-corruption Marathon project which is designed to honor a sitting President was not much welcomed by Nigerians who saw the move as partisan.

The reactions on Social media was not a surprise. it reveals that Nigerians are beginning to loose trust on EFCC. ICPC however, has not said anything concerning the statement made by Gandollar. Nigerians have been forced to believe the EFCC, an anti-graft agency has been compromised by those in power, APC, too oppress their major opposition, PDP. Rumors of how EFCC deliberately ignored fraud cases involving APC member have been on the streets. Non-APC members, especially PDP members are immediately sanctioned and prosecuted.

Blame everyone else but us – Kayode Ogundamisi

Grown Adults cross dangerous 3rd mainland bridge just to go and discharge excrete faeces not minding the dangerous road or falling into the sea and we blame poverty.

Kayode Ogundamisi

A good Nigerian, Kayode Ogundamisi has taken to social media to pen down a nice piece of information concerning the ill societal-manners exhibited by some Nigerians.

He, in a video explained that some Nigerians have poor followership which have caused a lot of downs for them and the country at large.

Someone once said, the cause of bad leadership is bad fellowship.

Kayode’s piece reads below.

Blame everyone else but us.

Grown Adults cross dangerous 3rd mainland bridge just to go and discharge excrete faeces not minding the dangerous road or falling into the sea and we blame poverty. Nigerian Customs Service will seize poisonous chicken, warn that it can kill and then dispose same, some will go dig it up, sell, consume and we blame poverty. Fuel tanker will spill dangerous materials we rush to get free fuel, explosion come and many killed and we blame poverty. Neighbour returns from Italy, tells story of land filled with gold on the streets and flaunt wealth, we withdraw our young daughter, sell all we have and send them on a perilous journey across the Sahara and the Mediterranean sea to die, we blame poverty. Politician who had nothing, makes money and becomes Chairman of the Local government, he moves out to a more cosy, expensive part of our city, steals all the money and make our neighbourhood worse than ever, he comes back in 4 years and we sell our votes to him with no qualms.

Deji Adeyanju released from prison, after 5 days of detention

A lorry ferrying vegetable oil is involved in accident and the oil spills into the gutter, same gutter we discharged our faeces into a minute earlier, same gutter we wee into and then we scoop the same vegetable oil mixed with faeces to sell or consume and then we blame poverty.

Yes we have extremely unplanned country, repeated failed governments, and economy that does not serve all but the few, irresponsible public officials who have not made it easy for the poor to break into the middle class.

Poverty isn’t the only reason for our sometimes irresponsible and unexplainable behaviour, we are just who we are, we love to blame everyone else but us, we do not like to take responsibility for our own safety and well being. Until we start blaming ourselves as much as we blame others, until we hold ourselves to the same standards we hold others, the society will continue to be run by those who reflect our very behaviour.
