Buhari on the other hand, got calls from reputable southeastern leaders, saying that the resolution “without any substance”.

In a tweet posted by Malam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the Muhammadu Buhari, Buhari was not surprised by split in the Ohaneze group over Atiku’s endorsement.

The tweet reads.

President@ MBuhari has said that the split within the Ohanaeze Igbo socio-cultural group over its reported endorsement of Alhaji @atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party, did not surprise him.

Speaking at a meeting with a select group of South-east leaders on Friday, at the State House, Abuja, PMB said that the moment the so-called resolution was announced, he got calls from well-meaning leaders from the region asking him to disregard it as it was without any substance. According to him, “From that moment, I knew that the resolution would not stand, and alas, there it was”.

“We will not get tired of speaking about the golden opportunity Nigeria lost during 16 years of the PDP. We earned money, which we didn’t use,” he said.

“The state of infrastructure we inherited was terrible – no roads, the railway was killed and power. They lacked conscience because anybody with conscience will not do what they did. We will report them to Nigerians. Let anybody lead this country but not the PDP. They were so reckless with the resources of the country,” the President said.

“If you ruin the economy, send your children abroad to get education, won’t they come back?” he asked, adding: “I said it 30 years ago that this is the only country we have. We must stay here and salvage it together.”

The leaders of the delegation, Engr. Emeka Ekwuosa and the Nat’l Chairman of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Chief Chekwas Okorie, informed President Buhari that the Igbos and South-easterners generally understand the good things he is doing for Nigeria. Which they said, had unfortunately been misunderstood. They promised to mobilise support for him in the south-east, saying that his re-election will be a national consensus.

Atiku Wrote;

“Thank you very much my brothers and sisters of the North Central zone.
Today we have listened to the failures of the APC government since 2015 till today. There is nothing they have not promised us, they promised us security, jobs and better economy, they failed. Whatever they promised, they failed.
It is time to return Nigeria to PDP, because the best years of this country was when the PDP was governing our country from 1999-2015.
In terms of corruption, Nigeria is worse of today than we were in 2014. In terms of economy, we are the poorest country in the world today. In terms of insecurity, we are most insecure than at any other time in our history
This is what the APC are doing. They are buying PVCs, they will come to you and give you N10, N20, N50 to buy your PVC – they are buying your future. Do you want to sell your future? Don’t sell your PVCs because they are going to use it against you.
God bless you all. Thank you.”

Popular Catholic priest simply identified as Rev Father Ejike Mbaka in a controversial statement said Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar will fail if they refuse to say what they’ll do for his ministry. Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi are the PDP presidential candidate for 2019 general election, with Peter Obi as the second-man.

Father Mbaka in a video making rounds on the internet made the statement during a political rally. Peter Obi was hesitant to make promises. Which led to Father say, in his exact words in part,

God hates stinginess… If you continue like this, you and Atiku will fail. – Father Mbaka

Christians however, were not agreement with Rev. Father Mbaka’s statement. Saying that God doesn’t force giving on Christians when they need favor from him.

Confusion - Ganduje donated N10m to EFCC, EFCC denies it

A Twitter user, @ifeabunike wrote,

What Father Mbaka did to Peter Obi at the alter of God and in God’s name was disgraceful and should be condemned by all well meaning Christians. If this was what Christ stood for, I don’t want to be a part of it anymore.

Reno Omokri took the liberty to voice his opinion, he wrote.

Fr Mbaka disgraces  @PeterObi for refusing to donate to his church. That is exactly why you should vote for @atiku and Peter Obi. They wont donate public money to churches and mosques. Has @officialEFCC ever looked for Peter Obi? These are the types of leaders we need! #RenosDarts

Father Mbaka Supports Ganduje of APC an Opposing party to Peter Obi, PDP

Controversial Rev Father Mbaka is also in support of the other side of coin. He stood side-by-side with Governor Ganduje who is involved in an alleged bribery scandal. Ganduje, a core APC members was endorsed by Father Mbaka who seeks arms from Peter Obi a PDP presidential candidate’s second-man.
