China has social ranking system which gives you points

What are the things that can be done to curb bad social vices in a society ? The answer to that question is relative but china already has a solution which is believed to work for them.

They’ve come up with a system which gives points to it’s citizen when they do go deeds or reduces points when they do bad.
Like private credit scores, a person’s social score can move up and down depending on their behaviour. The exact methodology is a secret — but examples infractions include bad driving, smoking in non-smoking zones, buying too many video games and posting fake news online.” – Pulse Ng.
“At the moment the system is piecemeal — some are run by city councils, others are scored by private tech platforms which hold personal data.
Punishments are served by banning or restricting citizens access to some level of social amenities. How the points are calculated and the reward or punishment served is unknown.
Here are a few ways you can be punished.
  • Flying or getting the train.
  • Throttling your internet speeds.
  • Banning you (or your kids!) from the best schools.
  • Stopping you getting the best jobs.
  • Keeping you out of the best hotels.
  • Being publicly named as a bad citizen.
The scheme is initiated to re-enforce the idea that “keeping trust is glorious and breaking trust is disgraceful,” according to a governmental document.

The program  is mandatory and is due to be fully operational by 2020, but is being piloted for millions of people already.

A 39-year old woman, Iwuagwu Onyinyechi, has been apprehended by the Ogun police command after she defrauded a Christian church the sum of N100m, under the disguise of assisting the church to raise fund for her charity programme. Onyinyechi was able to defraud the church with forged documents three good times.

The police command in a statement read by its spokesman on Sunday Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Onyinyechi’s arrest followed a complain filed by a lawyer of the church, Godswill Ojakovo, to the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, in which he said that his client, the church, was defrauded by Onyinyechi through an act of forgery.

According to the spokesman, Oyeyemi, the suspect claimed to have obtained a Local Purchase Order (LPO) from a property company and pleaded to the church to help fund the LPO, after which a sum of N33.118m was successfully transferred into to her bank account.

While the church was awaiting the repayment of the loan, Onyinyechi came with another two LPOs she claimed she got from a Catholic Hospital, Iju and a private school in Ikorodu, Lagos State. Another sum of N77m was given to her, after convincing the church with relevant documents and proofs to back her claims.

But as soon as Onyinyechi got the last payment in September 2018, she went loose and this prompted the church to make discreet inquiries about the LPOs she submitted and found out that they were forged.
