27-year-old high school teacher who is the wife to a Nigerian surgeon has bee arrested for having sex with her student. The arrest came on Monday after a student came out to say that the teacher who goes by the name Jennifer Danielle Olajire-Aro have had sex with him on several occasions.
The student 17-year-old made the exposure to another teacher who immediately reported the case to the school admin.
According to an affidavit, Jennifer who lives and works in South Carolina, engaged in “an intimate and sexual relationship with her 17-year-old male student” on three occasions between November and December at her residence and other locations in Charleston.
The scared student told another teacher about the sexual acts which the teacher reported what the student said to school administration, the affidavit said.
The case was handled over to authorities who arrested Jennifer. She straight forward admitted to having a sexual relationship with the 17-year-old on three occasions between November and December at her home and other locations in Charleston. Jennifer faces one count of sexual battery in Charleston, S.C.
At her bond hearing in court, the student’s mother spoke out, calling Jennifer a “hellacious person,”. She said:
“He is 17, 17. He is not an adult. … Emotionally, he is not ready for this. I’m not ready for the texts, the phone calls, the comments,” she said.
Jennifer, who is also a tennis coach, has gracefully been placed on paid administrative leave, according to the school district.
Her attorney confirmed that Jennifer is married, with a 10-month-old baby girl of her Nigerian husband, a surgeon at the Medical University of South Carolina.
She’s being held on $100,000 bail and has been restricted of having contact with the victim, his family or students at the school, equally she is not to leave the state without permission from the 9th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
Jennifer’s family was supposed to come in from Texas for her hearing, but their flight was delayed and they did not make it in time, Holmes said.
“She is married,” he said of his client. “Her husband is a student at the Medical University of South Carolina (in) the residency program. She has a 10-month-old baby, a girl.”
Jennifer taught pre-calculus and algebra at Burke, has a master’s degree from the University of Texas in education, and has no prior record, the attorney said. She had no prior disciplinary actions against her at the school until the current accusations surfaced, and has received awards for her teaching.
“This is her first year of employment with Charleston County School District and she is now on paid administrative leave” according to a statement by Andy Pruitt, a district spokesman.
