Three (3) Kidnappers nabbed at UNIABUJA after the second attempt to kidnap girl students

They said everyday for the thief, one day for the owner. The statement applied to the kidnappers who kidnapped girls for University of Abuja – (UNIABUJA) and returned to take another set. The kidnappers who were said to have taken a number of girls had faced the music when students caught them and beat them blue, black and purple.

According to reports the girls taken from the institution previously were gone and never found. So to top up their game and earn more, the kidnappers came to take more girls. A student identified as Damilola said kidnappers came to the school on Tuesday,picked up some ladies but the ladies never came back. On their return kidnappers were nabbed, their car was also set ablaze.

Mercy, another female student of the school said,

“Two girls got an invitation to go out, from a hostel member, who is not a student, but was impersonating just to get girls kidnapped from the school”.

Mr Solomon Ngbede, UNIABUJA’s Chief Security Officer speaking with Premium Times, confirmed that the kidnappers who have been identified as Ifeanyi and Precious Okeke, indeed abducted students but they have been rescued.

“The students were kidnapped five days ago and the kidnappers confessed that they were the ones who picked them up so we went there in the company of the police and rescued the girls last night and they are with their parents now,” 

“The kidnappers came back yesterday to pick another set of girls. They were two men and a lady. The students were able to recognise them, so we have the men and two girls in our custody,” Mr Ngbede said.

Yakubu further stated that FAA  engineers were already working to rectify the “minor electrical fault”, assuring the public that normalcy would be restored soon.
