Dangote truck runs over tricycle in Lokoja, kill female university student, Civil Defence officer and one other

Three people have been confirmed dead and three others critically injured when a Dangote cement truck ran over a commercial tricycle  (Keke Napep) yesterday along cemetery junction, Lokoja, Kogi state capital.

According to persons who witnessed the scene, the Dangote Cement truck on a high speed smashed into the tricycle, killing three passenger instantly and leaving others fatally injured.

This is not the first of it’s kind this month as a truck also sent to death a pregnant woman and six other in Ogun state.

One of the casualties of this recent accident is Adesewa Bukky Adebayo, a student Of  Federal University Lokoja, Department of History, who was returning from a bank after paying her tuition fee and an officer of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, who also died on the spot.

Kogi First Lady Mrs. Rashida Bello, who arrived the accident scene immediately rushed the survivors to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja where they are currently receiving medical attention.

The driver who killed the pregnant woman and her baby but the same cannot be said for this driver who tried to escape but was chased and apprehended and his vehicle set ablaze by angry mob. it took the intervention of some policemen who saved the driver from being burnt to death just like this kidnapper.

AIT owner, Raymond Dokpesi, arrested at Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport

The owner of African Independent Television (AIT), Raymond Dokpesi has been arrested at Nnamdi Azikiwe airport for reasons unrevealed.

The news is coming from the verified Twitter account of the television network, they wrote.

“Breaking: Chief Raymond Dokpesi has been arrested at Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport on return from medical treatment /operation at the American Hospital Dubai. Reasons have not been given yet for the arrest”.

Following the news, Chief Raymond has been released, according to the update from AIT.

Let’s talk about Raymond Dokpesi.

According to online sources, Dokpesi is Nigerian media businessman born in 1951 in Ibadan, Nigeria. His parents are from Agenebode, Edo state in a family including six sisters siblings. He entered the Nigerian mass media industry with his company DAAR Communications and set-up the Nigerian TV network Africa Independent Television (AIT).

Raymond Dokpesi was the organising committee chairman of the People’s Democratic Party national conference in 2015.
