Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha yesterday unveiled a giant statue of South African president Jacob Zuma in Owerri, Imo state.
Why the statue of Zuma in owerri and road naming after Zuma in owerri?
President Zuma is on a two day visit to Owerri, Imo State, South East Nigeria. He was conferred a traditional captaincy title by the state governor, a road was named after him and then, a statue of him unveiled in Owerri city. Imo Governor Okorocha also bestowed on President Zuma, the Imo Merit Award, one of the highest award in the State given to distinguished personalities who have made a difference in the development of their communities and to humanity.
Don’t ask me what Zuma did to get such recognition, but the thing is, Okorocha has been making moves towards the betterment of Imo state, moves in which only him knows the outcome. Politics.
