63-year-old Catholic Italian missionary, Pallù who was abducted on October 12th in Nigeria, where he had been stationed has been set free.
According to reports the missionary was travelling with a group near Benin City when armed men attacked, robbed and released his four companions but took Pallù hostage.
Then, Last Sunday Pallù’s kidnappers allowed him to call his mum Italy. Pallù assured her mum that he was well and would be set free shortly, she told the media .
According to La Republica newspaper, Pallù was released on his birthday, October 18th.
Foreign Minister said Father Pallù was brought to the Italian Embassy in Abuja after his release and returned to Florence on Thursday.
