A security camera caught the moment three armed men entered an unsuspecting victim’s porch (A porch is a construction usually external to the walls of the main building proper, but may be enclosed by latticework, broad windows, screen, or other light frame walls extending from the main structure.) in Sarasota, Florida, in an attempt to rob the homeowner.
And the funny part, the footage shows the maskedmen armed with crowsbow, shotgun and machete menacingly entering the porch with their weapons raised. Just before a homeowner appears with a machete and begins chasing them around the property.
He was able to catch and disarm Beltran-Vazquez who was armed with a shotgun.
Two other men, who were later identified as Cabrera-Basulto and Jauregui-Lorente, escaped before the police arrived. The two men who were seen fleeing the scene in the surveillance video was nabbed by the police.
The police said they first received a call about “a suspicious person armed with a rifle, at a home in the 2100 block of Dodge Avenue.” As they sped to the scene, they received a second call “indicating that the homeowner disarmed the suspect and was holding him until law enforcement arrived”
After arresting the five men, police said the suspects admitted to attempting the robbery. They now face multiple charges, including armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
They are being held at the Sarasota County Jail without bond.
Sarasota County police recovered the machete, crowbar and shotgun at the scene of the crime.
